Convert HTML to PDF from Zapier
Send the POST through Webhooks by Zapier with the Bearer header, map the receipt's download field, and the document url lands in the Zap.
Wire it up
The shared request is Authorization: Bearer wc_your_key and {"url": "https://example.com/"}. Zapier changes the wrapper, not those values or the authenticated download.
- Add an action and choose Webhooks by Zapier with the action event POST.
- Set URL to your serving origin plus
/v1/convert, and Payload Type tojson. - Under Data, add one row: key
url, value the page address to render, for examplehttps://example.com/. - Under Headers, add one row: key
Authorization, valueAuthorization: Bearer wc_your_key. - Test the step. The response is the sync receipt, and Zapier's field finder exposes
downloadas a value the next action can map. - Add a second Webhooks by Zapier action, event GET, with the download url as its URL and the same Authorization header row as the POST step.
The full request
App: Webhooks by Zapier
Action event: POST
URL: https://webcapture.io/v1/convert
Payload Type: json
Data: url = https://example.com/
Headers: Authorization = Bearer wc_your_key
The test response carries the receipt fields, and download is the url to the finished document. The second GET action replays the same Authorization header, because the download endpoint is key-scoped: it answers 401 without the header and 404 for another key's id, so the url alone is worth nothing to a step or a recipient that does not hold your key.
Limits
This API's convert endpoint rate limits at 120 requests a minute per client IP, answering 429 with retryAfterSec when the window fills. The monthly quota is per account: an exhausted quota answers 429 with used, limit, resetDate, and upgradeUrl, and the receipt's remaining field counts down every render. Long pages that would sit past a Zap step's patience can POST with ?wait=false and take the 202 ticket's download url in a later step.

Method
Checked 2026-10-05 against Zapier: The action event and field names follow the Webhooks by Zapier app's POST action as listed on zapier.com/apps/webhook; Zapier's help center moves articles, so the app page is the stable citation.
