Convert a URL to PDF from your automation platform

Eight platforms, one call. Every page here documents the same real request this API serves, POST /v1/convert with a Bearer key and a JSON body carrying a url or raw html, written out in the platform's own step format with the fields the platform actually names.

The eight platforms

The shape every page follows

The platform's step holds an outgoing HTTP call; this API's endpoint receives it. The request is a POST to https://webcapture.io/v1/convert with Authorization: Bearer wc_your_key and a JSON body carrying exactly one source: {"url": "https://example.com/"} or {"html": "<html>…</html>"}. By default the call holds and answers 200 with a receipt: id, bytes, attempts, remaining, sourceUrl, sourceType, and download. The download value is the GET url for the pdf bytes, and both calls carry your key: the POST renders the document, and the GET serves it only to the key that made it, because the download endpoint is key-scoped (no header answers 401, another key's id answers 404). The pattern on every page is the same two moves: POST the source with your key, then GET the download with the same header. Raw HTML can name a public baseUrl for relative assets. A platform whose steps prefer to return quickly can send ?wait=false and take a 202 ticket carrying poll and download urls instead. Artifacts are kept for at least seven days (30 on Scale). See retention by plan.

Method

Checked 2026-10-05. Each platform page names the documentation its sample was checked against and links it from its own method footer; no field is written here that the platform's own surface does not name. Corrections: hello@webcapture.io.

Render your first page in seconds

Mint a key, POST a URL, and the finished document comes back in the same response; pass ?wait=false for a job ticket with poll and download URLs. The first 50 renders a month are free, and there is no credit card. Not ready for a key? The free URL to PDF tool renders public pages without one.
